In recent years, a growing amount of information has alerted people to the significant issue of ocean pollution. Many enterprises and organizations have begun organizing and participating in plogging activities, reflecting a heightened awareness for the well-being of marine environments.
Sintokogio recognizing the impact of COVID-19, which has led to increased isolation due to reduced social interactions and a lack of physical activity resulting from restricted movements, has, for the second consecutive year since 2022, rallied its global subsidiaries (comprising 22 companies in Japan and 32 companies overseas as of 2022) to conduct plogging activities in their respective localities. Taiwan Sintong, as a member of the group, enthusiastically responds to this global initiative.
In just 30 minutes during this plogging activity, our colleagues picked up 6 bags of waste totaling about 50 kilograms, including discarded tires, Styrofoam and fishing nets.
Implementing plogging activities not only aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) 14.1, eventing and significantly reducing all kinds of marine pollution, but also fosters communication and collaboration among employees. It provides an opportunity for increased physical activity, raising awareness among staff about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
